Thanks to a generous $2500 donation, the Hawaii Women’s Rodeo Association already has a Title Sponsor for its signature event, the 20th Annual Statewide All-Girls Rodeo. Sheila Head, owner of Sheila Head’s Hawaiian Transort, made the donation today and expressed enthusiasm and support for this, HWRA’s 20th Statewide All-Girls Rodeo.
Head has been shipping horses to Hawaii for about 25 years. The company started out with some open containers ( roll-ons ) and since added 4-40ft. “lift-ons” that house up to 10 head.
“My priority is safety,” says Head. “I was raised on a cattle ranch, have shown cutting horses for many years,and I have always been careful to make sure my animals are well cared for. In this industry we deal with all types of horses and I always want to make sure that they are well taken care of from the time arrive at my ranch until they are off loaded at the Hawaii State Quarantine Station. If I ever have any questions or concerns prior to loading I always call the customer,that way everyone is up-to-date on what is going on.”
